Counseling Philosophy:
Through her personal experiences with disordered eating and SIBO, Sydney understands what it is like to struggle with multifactorial conditions that are often treated using a “band-aid” approach. Sydney counsels through a client-centered, functional lens to uncover the underlying “why” and root cause of her patients’ distress. She is dedicated to continuously investigating emerging research to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to her patients.
With her extensive experience developing nutrient-dense recipes, meal prepping for busy individuals, and teaching cooking classes, Sydney is also able to support her patients on their journeys toward becoming confident cooks and mindful eaters. Whether you’re someone who is curious about plant-forward eating or has been diagnosed with a health condition and does not know where to start, Sydney will work with you to curate nutritionally-tailored meals and make balanced, nourishing eating an enjoyable part of your life.
Affiliations:
Sydney is a member of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
Personal Interests:
Sydney grew up in the kitchen cooking Persian dishes with her mom and watching the Barefoot Contessa on repeat, ultimately inspiring her love for cooking. She turned her passion for food into a career by developing recipes for her social media community and providing private cooking services for clients across NYC. When Sydney isn’t working or cooking, she is savoring a croissant at one her favorite bakeries or trying a new restaurant with friends.
