Background
Before becoming a dietitian, Paula worked as a model internationally for a decade. This ultimately led her to pursue a career in nutrition as she felt a lot of pressure to control her weight with questionable diets. Up until her early twenties, she was a chronic dieter, always looking for the hottest diet-trends. Now, she wants to educate others so they don’t fall for fad diets and dubious wellness trends.
While earning her Master’s in Nutrition at New York University, she also completed a prestigious didactic program in dietetics through Steinhardt. From there, she was accepted into an intensive and competitive dietetic internship with Hunter College.
Since earning her numerous accolades, Paula remains passionate about improving the health of her community. As part of her public health work, she completes research studies looking at obesity management and diabetes prevention and works with organizations such as The American Heart Association or the United Nations Climate Change Conference to address food insecurity locally and globally.
